Vocational Deacons, sometimes called Distinctive Deacons, are people who have been identified as having a specific calling to be ordained as deacons and to remain as deacons, as opposed to those who have been identifed as having a calling to become a priest. Priests are ordained as deacons before they are ordained as priests, so their time as deacons is "transitional" not "vocational."

Following are documents related to the ministry of vocational deacons.
If you sense you may be called to be ordained as a deacon, please start by speaking to your priest or rector.
