'Racism a Spiritual Issue'Edmonton Diocese to Observe Racial Justice Sunday Yovella M., a member of St. George's, Edmonton and the diocesan anti-racism working group, thinks Anglicans should view systemic racism as a spiritual issue. She encourages parishes to take part in Racial Justice Sunday, an initiative started in the UK and Church of England. It will be observed for the first time in the Edmonton diocese on February 11. We would love to see your parish and/or ministries up on our walls. Upload a good quality picture (min. 1MB, the frames are quite large) and each week we will feature a new photo. Refugee Settlement Monitoring Team and Refugee Committee
Due to recent changes to governmental regulations and processes, the Diocese of Edmonton has identified a pressing need for a group of faithful volunteers to help assist with refugee settlement monitoring for the refugees coming to Edmonton through Diocesan and parish sponsorship. We hope to build two unique refugee support teams consisting of individuals with a heart for refugee and resettlement support (individuals may serve on both teams if they are so called). Introduction to the Lay Evangelist Formation Program
The Rev. Tim Chesterton, warden of lay evangelists, and the Rev. Eric Kregel, a priest in the diocese, are training the next cohort of licensed lay evangelists in the Diocese of Edmonton. Watch this video for an "Introduction to the Lay Evangelist Formation Program."

Register Now for Lay Evangelist Formation Program
The Edmonton diocese is now accepting applications for the 2024-25 Lay Evangelist Formation Program. The formation will be led by the Rev. Tim Chesterton, Warden of Lay Evangelists, over 10 Saturday modules (approximate time frame 10 am to 3 pm), at Good Shepherd Anglican Church, 15495 Castle Downs Rd, Edmonton. We anticipate completing seven modules in 2024, and the remaining three in early 2025, concluding with a licensing of new evangelists later in the spring of 2025. YEG Anglican Youth Gearing Up for CNOY Walkin support of people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness - Saturday, February 24, 2024 The SJE (St. John the Evangelist, Edmonton) Youth Group is getting a team together to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) 5k walk hosted by the Mustard Seed. Held on Saturday, February 24, this annual 5K walk raises much-needed funds for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Together in Faith: Confronting Racism

Choirs Raise Voices for Trans' Rights
Members of Edmonton’s choir community are coming together for a self-described “big, noisy, songful show of love and support for our trans siblings.” Sing With Love takes place at 2 pm on Sunday, February 11, at McDougall United Church, 10086 MacDonald Drive, Edmonton, followed by a march to Churchill Square for a solidarity sing-in at 3:30 pm. The concert at McDougall will feature performances by several local choirs on the themes of support, solidarity and pride. The mass-choir finale will include an audience sing-along. Audience members are encouraged to wear comfortable, bright pride gear — drag is encouraged! Admission is by donation, with proceeds to support the Fyrefly Institute for Gender and Sexual Diversity.
