Apply Now for 2024 Co-ed Weekenda way to enrich your Christian life - May 3 to 5, 2024 Have you considered going deeper in your faith by attending a Cursillo Weekend? The weekend runs from Friday evening, May 3 to late Sunday afternoon, May 5. It revolves around a series of talks given by a team of laypeople and clergy. Small group discussions follow the talks. There are times for worship, fellowship, personal reflection, prayer, and song. As a Christian, the weekend is a time for you to be strengthened in your spiritual journey. Strategic Planning Process to Launch with Another Way Consultant
The Diocese of Edmonton has selected an Edmonton-based consultant to lead the first phase of the Diocesan Strategic Plan. At its meeting on January 25, the executive council approved the strategic planning consultant search committee’s recommendation to hire Anna Bubel, principal consultant of Another Way consulting. Refugee Settlement Monitoring Team and Refugee Committee
Due to recent changes to governmental regulations and processes, the Diocese of Edmonton has identified a pressing need for a group of faithful volunteers to help assist with refugee settlement monitoring for the refugees coming to Edmonton through Diocesan and parish sponsorship. We hope to build two unique refugee support teams consisting of individuals with a heart for refugee and resettlement support (individuals may serve on both teams if they are so called). Register Now for Lay Evangelist Formation Program
The Edmonton diocese is now accepting applications for the 2024-25 Lay Evangelist Formation Program. The formation will be led by the Rev. Tim Chesterton, Warden of Lay Evangelists, over 10 Saturday modules (approximate time frame 10 am to 3 pm), at Good Shepherd Anglican Church, 15495 Castle Downs Rd, Edmonton. We anticipate completing seven modules in 2024, and the remaining three in early 2025, concluding with a licensing of new evangelists later in the spring of 2025. YEG Anglican Youth Gearing Up for CNOY Walkin support of people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness - Saturday, February 24, 2024 The SJE (St. John the Evangelist, Edmonton) Youth Group is getting a team together to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) 5k walk hosted by the Mustard Seed. Held on Saturday, February 24, this annual 5K walk raises much-needed funds for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Through conversation and presentation, we offer the gift of delving into some topics that we sometimes haven’t found the right moment to explore yet. Dementia, Wills, Funeral Home Options and Planning a Celebration of Life Service, Medical Assistance in Dying, Holy Living and Holy Dying - A Good Death. Vegreville World Day of Prayer Service"I beg you... bear with one another in love" Ephesians 4:1-3 - Friday, March 1, 2024 St. Mary the Virgin, Vegreville will host a World Day of Prayer service at Vegreville United Church, 5126 48 Avenue, on Friday, March 1, from 7 to 9 pm. Christian women of Palestine wrote the liturgy. A free-will offering will be collected during the service to support the Women’s Inter-Church Council of Canada.
