A Liturgy for Earth Day

Bishop Jane is encouraging parishes to use this liturgy to mark Earth Day, April 22, which falls on a Sunday this year. The liturgy includes readings from the book of Genesis, prayers that we might live in harmony with the earth, and tangible offerings for reflection on our world, created and redeemed by God.

In the spirit of peaceful dialogue, understanding, reconciliation, and healing, we walk alongside our Indigenous and Métis relations on the Treaty 6 and Treaty 8 Territories, the traditional meeting ground of Cree, Saulteaux, Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Nakota Sioux, Dene, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
