Launch a Youth Ministry: One church did an excellent job of inviting others to come to Alpha. Three youth became twelve and a youth group was formed after the Alpha course finished.
Evangelism: Alpha was created for Christians to invite their friends and neighbours to a relaxing, non-threatening environment where questions about life and faith can be discussed openly.
Primer for Confirmation Preparation: Gather up youth to do Alpha and encourage them to invite their friends. When Alpha is done, offer a confirmation program as a way for students to own their baptism. Incorporate offering baptism for guests who have not been baptized.
Train Leaders: Alpha comes with three training sessions. Leaders can be any age. Leading a small group for 10 weeks gives team members essential skills for leading in the future.
Ecumenical Partners : Team up with other churches in your neighbourhood to run Alpha for all the church youth, their friends and other students in the area.
Outreach: Offer Alpha for Youth in your neighbourhood. Host it at your church, a local coffee shop or community centre. Churches can assist students who are leading Alpha in a local school by connecting them with youth in your church, providing prayer support, food and / or a venue for the day away.
Be Creative: One church ran a small group for parents who watched the Youth Film Series at the same time as their kids.
