Ecumenical Events for Holy Week

Lent has begun! May your communities of faith be blessed as you journey with Jesus towards the cross.

Here are a couple of amazing opportunities to participate in ecumenical offerings relating to Holy Week observance. Please take time to consider participating in these events and share with your networks.

1. The Outdoor Way of the Cross 2026: This will take place on Friday, April 3, at 10 am. This year's theme is: "Whatsoever You Do: Seeing, Naming, and Protecting the Rights of People as Part of Creation." The walk will begin and end at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples (10821 96 Street). For more details and to share with your community, please see the POSTER and BULLETIN ANNOUNCEMENT.

2. Holy Week Retreat at Providence Renewal Centre: This will take place March 29 - April 5 with Fr. Mike Dechant, OMI. The theme is: "Repent (Metanoia), the Kingdom of God is Near." The focus of the Holy Week Retreat is an "Examination of Consciousness" - to embrace the notion of "metanoia" - a profound, transformational change of mind, heart, and life, to move beyond one's old way of thinking, to embrace God's truth, leading to new actions and a transformed life aligned with the Kingdom of God.
