Joining the Synod Office team this August are the Rev. Nick Trussell and the Rev. Stephanie London, who will serve as the Coordinator of Missional Renewal and Interim Communications staff, respectively.

"I'm delighted to be working as the Coordinator of Missional Renewal for our diocesan family of parishes," says Trussell, who is returning to the Synod Office after joining the Edmonton diocese in 2008 as a priest in mission and serving in several parishes, most recently as the rector of St. Luke's Edmonton.

"The role is entirely new and part of A Way Through the Wilderness, the strategic work plan that our executive council has formed to help us shape our ministry to be most faithful and effective in our environment today."

Trussell is "excited to learn more about the variety of creative and compassionate ministries at work throughout our diocese and to discover how ecumenical partnerships can give new life to our proclamation of the Gospel in our parishes."

While acknowledging that implementing the work plan will necessitate change that will surely be difficult, he says, "We are in an incredible moment of transformation together with one another and God's own Spirit. I am humbled and honoured to be part of those difficult moments, as well, and trust that, as in all things, we will face them together with a hopeful faith."

London, who also continues as Rector of St. Columba Anglican Church in Beaumont, is looking forward to building on her communications background to support the Diocese this fall. The Synod Office will miss the skill and expertise of Margaret Glidden, who is moving on to new pursuits after serving as  Communications Director for seventeen years.

Expect to hear more from both new staff members as the Diocese charts a course for a faithful and Spirit-led future.
